Selena Gomez has snapped up the late rocker Tom Petty’s former home in Encino, California, for $4.9 million.
The 27-year-old Rare singer has decided to splash out an eye-watering sum of money on the mansion Tom and his ex-wife Jane Benyo designed back in 1989. The property has since been renovated. The I Won’t Back Down singer from Florida died in 2017 at the age of 66 at his Malibu mansion.
The 11,000 square foot property boasts six bedrooms and 10 baths, according to E! News, which reports that it also features plenty of spare rooms suitable for leisure activities.

What’s more, the luxurious abode is home to an in-home recording booth, meaning Selena will be able to make new music from the comfort of her own house.
The property also features a wine cellar, a gym, a massage room and a work space, as well as an extra kitchen.
There is also a swimming pool with hot tub and an outdoor covered barbecue area that could seat at least 10 people.

‘My thoughts on life in Donald Trump’s America? I have said that I don’t claim to be an expert and I understand that there have to be rules and regulations, but we have to do better than what we are doing – we simply have to,’ said the Texas native.

One of the biggest things I have learned is that these people need and deserve to be listened to. They are not a statistic – they are people with real stories – and I would make sure that happened.’

And she wants these immigrants and refugees to know that ‘there are people fighting for them.’
She added: ‘There are people who will listen to them, and there are those who are ready to fight for change. Through the documentary I learned that people are truly inspiring. These families have so much going on in their lives, yet they still find the strength to keep going.’
In October she wrote an op ed for TIME. ‘Undocumented immigration is an issue I think about every day, and I never forget how blessed I am to have been born in this country thanks to my family and the grace of circumstance.
