Seagate announced today that it’s now shipping the Pulsar XT.2 solid-state drive (SSD). This is one of two enterprise SSDs that were unveiled back in March. The second drive is the Pulsar.2 that will also be available for purchase by the end of this month.
The Pulsar XT.2 SSD is the company’s flagship solid-state solution for enterprise. Seagate says the drive combines single-level cell flash with a native 6GB/s serial-attached SCSI (SAS) interface and is the fastest internal storage drive in Seagate’s portfolio.
The drive comes in the traditional 2.5-inch design and offers up to 400GB of capacity. It’s optimized for speed and complex, mixed workloads typical of enterprise environments such as online transaction processing, database or Web indexing, and e-mail.
The Pulsar.2 SSD, on the other hand, is based on multiple-level cell technology, similar to that of consumer-grade SSDs, with a focus on capacities, and therefore more suitable for data centers. Seagate says the drive features up to 800GB of storage and offers the robust data integrity and reliability required for enterprise applications. It also supports both native 6GB/s SAS and Serial ATA (SATA) 6Gb/s interfaces for primary and secondary server pulsa lengkap storage.
It’s currently unclear how much these new SSDs will cost.
